5 Ways to Improve on Creative Writing!

  • Brainstorm!:
  • -Just write all of your thoughts down. Don't hesitate, take an idea and build up on it. Your own mind can take you places beyond your expectations. Whether it be the smallest things, or the most obvious items, writing it down will never hurt you. You'd be surprised by how much inspiration you can take from the over-looked, un-appreciated, little things, but can completely affect your day.



  • Dare to Dream!:
  • -Dare to dream beyond the borders by which our modern day society is withholding us in. In simpler words, don't be afraid to do something different. New ideas are always welcome, and usually will help entertain your audience furthermore.



  • Be Descriptive!:
  • -Be as descriptive as you can. Keep in mind that your reader can't see into your ideas, they only imagine what your writing gives them. The more descriptive, the better. As long as you don't get off-track, and incorporate run-on sentences.



  • Be Aware of Repetitive Phrases:
  • -You might not realize that you are re-using the same descriptive words over and over again. Such as only using the word 'small' to describe little things, instead of using other words such as 'tiny' or 'miniscule'. Using different words, or synonyms of the kind, will help intrigue the reader further into your story, or presentation.



  • Double-Check:
  • -It's always good scan over your written assignment before presenting it. Check for spelling mistakes, format errors, run-on sentences, and incomplete sentences. It never hurts double check.
