   Puma. Not the animal. The brand. Puma is a German multinational company that makes sportswear and casual clothing and footwear. The company distributes its products in more than 120 countries, employs more than 10,000 people worldwide, and is headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany. It is officialy branded Puma SE. The company was formed as Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik in 1924 by two brothers  - Adolf and Rudolf Dassler. Both brothers were in the Nazi Party and eventually during their time in the party they split into two companies - Ruda and Adidas. Following the split from his brother, Rudolf Dassler originally named the newly made company as Ruda, but later changed to Puma. If you do not know about Adidas there are some other newspapers saying what it is. Puma is the older company being formed in 1924 but Adidas still makes more money and sells more products. Puma is a sponsor of sporting events and identities in Germany and internationally.The company sponsors numerous footballers and national football teams. Puma is the sponsor of a number of Bundesliga teams, most notable, Borussia Dortmund. Even though it is based in Germany, there aren't too many German players sponsored by Puma.
