Hey Lions(;  Have you ever heard of Bruno Mars?  His actual name is Peter Gene Hernandez.  At the age of two, his father named him Bruno.  As a little boy his nickname was Little Elvis.  Bruno Mars was born on October 8, 1985, he was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Bruno is a singer-songwriter, record producer, model, & dancer.  He plays the drums, guitar, keyboard, bass, piano, & harmonica.  His birth parents are Pete & Bernadette.  His mother, Bernadette, immigrated from the Philippines to Hawaii.  His parents met when his mom was a hula dancer & his father played percussion.  In Waikiki Beach, Bruno's family performed a Las Vegas-style revue that included Motown hits, Doo-Wop melodies & celebrity impersonations.  Growing up around his family of entertainers, he began using musical instruments during his childhood.  Bruno was never taught how to play, he just learned by playing & always being there.  He went to Roosevelt High School where he had many friends whom formed a band called The School Boys.  They performed classic oldies hits alongside his family's act at the Ilikai Hotel in Honolulu.  After Bruno had graduated from high school, he moved to Los Angeles, California.  During the first years he lived in California he struggled to make a breakthrough in music industries.  Since he was used to performing all the time with his family, he grew frustrated with waiting for his career to move forward.  During this time, Bruno decided to start writing songs.  He didn't write songs back in Honolulu, because he never really needed to.  A friend introduced Bruno to a songwriter named Phillip Lawrence who agreed to help Bruno compose his materials.  Together they presented a song they had written & recorded to a record label.  They liked it but they wanted one of their own artists to perform it.  Bruno & Phillip ended up just selling the song.  He was disappointed but he decided he would push the artist thing aside and get into the business this way.  They would write songs & produce songs for other artists.  After many years of being a songwriter, he finally broke out as a singer in his own right with the 2010 hit Nothin' on You.  The song was written for the Atlantic Records rapper B.o.B., but the record label decided to enlist Bruno.  The track was an enormous hit.  It was number 1 on the billboard singles chart, instantly making Bruno Mars a guy from a composer into a pop performer.  Months later Bruno released his first solo single Just The Way You Are.  It also landed the artist on top of the Billboard singles chart.  Around that time,Bruno also received several Grammy Award nominations including Album of the year.  When he went home empty handed, Bruno gave a performance at the Grammy Award ceremony in February 2012.  After years of trying to reach the top of the music industry, he is now trying to enjoy the moment.  Bruno says he is very proud of how many songs are representing him as an artist.  Well Lions, did you know that Bruno likes ink?  He has tattoos of a gypsy on his left forearm, an anchor on his right forearm, his mothers name on his right shoulder, & Pete's boy on his left bicep.  He was also arrested for cocaine possession in Vegas in September of 2012 .____.  His favorite color is Maroon & his favorite song in his collection is Count on Me.  Well Lions, hope you enjoyed this article.  Bye.
